Memory of the Landscape

A portrait of acclaimed Chilean sculptor Fernando Casasempere, filmed over six months in East London and in Chile - near Santiago and deep into the Atacama Desert - as he prepares for his next exhibition, The Memory of the Landscape.

We wanted the film to reflect the intimate, tactile nature of Casasemperes work - the way he shapes and responds to the material by hand. Primarily shooting handheld allowed us to stay close, to move with the process, and to capture the quiet connection between artist and clay.

The exhibition and film were honoured with the National Award by the Circle of Art Critics of Chile.

Next Project

Portland Stone

We followed Portland Stone from its ancient base-bed on the Isle of Portland to its new life at 25 Baker Street. The film celebrates the dialogue between nature and craftsmanship - honouring the material, the makers who shape it, and the distinctive landscape it comes from.
